  • Journal of Arid Zone Research Impact Factor Breaks 2.0 in 2022

The Chinese Academy of Sciences' Center for Literature and Information has released the 2022 China Science Citation Index (CSCD-JCR), and the Journal of Arid Zone Research (AZR) has seen its impact factor rise steadily to 2.0549, an increase of 21.4% from 2021 (1.6917), setting a new record and solidifying its position in the Q1 quartile in the fields of astronomy, earth science, and agricultural science.

JAR is a comprehensive academic journal dedicated to research in arid and semi-arid regions. In recent years, through continuous efforts to strengthen the construction of high-quality manuscripts, digital platforms, and publicity and promotion, the journal's various evaluation indicators have steadily risen, and its publication quality and overall academic influence have gradually improved. In 2020, it was selected into the Scopus database and received the "Chinese Academy of Sciences Science Publishing Fund Support Project for Outstanding Chinese Scientific and Technological Journals," which has played a positive role in further enhancing the journal's influence.

Founded in 1984, JAR mainly publishes innovative research papers, special reviews and comments, research methods, and applications of new technologies in the fields of water, soil, biology, climate, and environment in arid regions. Since its inception, the journal has adhered to its editorial purpose, deeply reported on scientific issues such as adaptation strategies for vulnerable ecosystems in arid and semi-arid regions to climate change, oasis ecosystem construction, and the development of oasis disciplines, and has actively established a comprehensive academic journal with regional characteristics of arid regions.

We sincerely thank the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Ecology and Geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Xinjiang, the Chinese Soil Society, and the Science Press for their strong support, as well as the Chinese Academy of Sciences Science Publishing Fund Support Project for Outstanding Chinese Scientific and Technological Journals for their funding. We would also like to express our special thanks to the editorial board, reviewers, and all authors and readers for their long-term care and support!
