Journal of Arid Zone Research to Switch to Monthly Publication in 2023
In response to the increasing number of submissions and publications received by the Journal of Arid Zone Research (AZR) in recent years, and to meet the needs of the journal's development and promote the timely dissemination of research, AZR has been approved by its competent organizer and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region News and Publishing Bureau to change its publication frequency from bimonthly to monthly, starting from January 2023.
The change in publication frequency will shorten the publication cycle, improve publication efficiency, accelerate the dissemination of outstanding research, and further expand the journal's academic influence. The journal will continue to strive to provide a high-quality platform for the publication and communication of academic in the field of arid region resource sciences. Founded in 1984, AZR is a comprehensive academic journal sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, co-organized by the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Chinese Soil Society, and published by the Science Press. The impact factor (CSCD-JCR) of AZR reached 1.6917 in 2021, setting a new record and ranking Q1 in the fields of astronomy, earth science, and agricultural science.
AZR mainly publishes innovative research papers, special reviews and comments, research methods, and applications of new technologies in the fields of water, soil, biology, climate, and environment in arid regions. Since its inception, the journal has adhered to its editorial purpose, deeply reported on scientific issues such as adaptation strategies for vulnerable ecosystems in arid and semi-arid regions to climate change, oasis ecosystem construction, and the development of oasis disciplines, and has actively established a comprehensive academic journal with regional characteristics of arid regions.
Currently, AZR is indexed by domestic and international databases such as Scopus, CSCD, CSTPCD, CNKI, WANFANG, and VIP. It has been selected into the T2 category of high-quality scientific and technological journals in the field of China's geographic resources and geology, and has been selected into the "Support Project for Outstanding Chinese Scientific and Technological Journals" of the Science Publishing Fund of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
