Journal of Arid Zone Research Receives Funding from CAS Science Publishing Fund for Outstanding Chinese Scientific and Technological Journals
It has been learned from the Bureau of Science Communication of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) that the Journal of Arid Zone Research (AZR), hosted by the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, CAS, has been selected for the "2020 CAS Science Publishing Fund Support Project for Outstanding Chinese Scientific and Technological Journals". This is the first time that AZR has received funding from the CAS Science Publishing Fund for Outstanding Chinese Scientific and Technological Journals since its inception.
Rooted in the characteristics of arid and semi-arid regions, AZR has promoted the sustainable development of the ecological environment in arid and semi-arid regions by deeply reporting on basic scientific issues in arid and semi-arid regions such as adaptation strategies for vulnerable ecosystems to climate change, oasis ecosystem construction, and the development of oasis disciplines, as well as results on desert transformation and utilization. In recent years, its impact factor has been steadily rising.
The selection of AZR for the "2020 CAS Science Publishing Fund Support Project for Outstanding Chinese Scientific and Technological Journals" is another major project support at the CAS level received by the institute's Academic Journal Center after "Arid Land Science" was selected for the "CAS Excellent Science and Technology Journal Ladder Plan Project" and "Regional Sustainable Development" was selected for the "CAS High-Starting Point New Journal Project" of the "CAS Excellent Science and Technology Journal Action Plan" in 2019.
In 2019, a total of 142 journals of the CAS met the evaluation conditions for scientific journals of the CAS Science Publishing Fund. Based on the data of the 2019 Science Citation Report and the competitiveness indicators of scientific journals, 142 journals were evaluated, and AZR ranked 34th. A total of 25 Chinese journals were selected, and AZR was one of them.
