This paper discussed the basic taxonomy of aridisols in Xinjiang.According to the limited index of exploiting soil resources and more experiences in soil investigation, research of classification method and index is carried out primarily, which includes the taxonomy in soil family and soil series of Xinjiang Aridisols.Because qualitative index is integrated by micro-index quatitatively, quatitative classification could be done from qualita-tive stage.
