The alpine grassland is distributed in high altitude and low heat environment． The eco–type of its plant composition mainly is low temperature type with dwarf community appearance．Grassland has certain productivity and economic value,and the ways of its utiliza– tion and improvement are somew hat coherent．This conception is a common form for natural grassland,and also is a kind of renewable resources and productive material of animal hus– bandry.
The alpine grassland in Tianshan Mts consists of 600–700 species,which has a series of eco–biological adaptation characteristics to high–cold environment–Based on these character– istics,it can be divided into 8 eco–biology groups and 6 community types．
At the present,the fodder value of grassland was evaluated,some existing problems were revialed,and some rational suggestions were advised from three aspects．
