Response of Germination Rate of Three Annual Plant Species to Sand Burial Depths and GA3 in Southern Marginal Zone of the Tengger Desert

A sand-burying comparison experiment was carried out to investigate the germination rate of 3 annual plant species under different sand burial depths after the seeds were treated with 1.0 g / L GA3 and water before so-wing. The results are as follows: (1)Germination rate of the 3 desert annual plant species was decreased with the increase of sand burial depth whether the seeds were treated with 1.0 g / L GA3 or water; (2)The optimal sand burial depth of the 3 annual plant species was 0.5 cm after the seeds were treated with distilled water, and their op-timal sand burial depths varied in ranges of 0.5-1.0 cm, 0.5-2.0 cm and 0.5-3.0 cm respectively after the seeds were treated with GA3 ; (3)After the seeds were treated with GA3 , the germination rate of the 3 annual plant species was different and related to sand burial depth. The optimal sand burial depths for increasing the germination rate of Agriophyllum squarrosum, Corispermum patelliforme and Echinopilon divaricatum were 0.5 cm, 0.5 cm and 2.0 cm, and their germination rates were increased by 3.2% , 18.4% and 27.4% , respectively; (4)After the seeds were treated with GA3 , the sand burial depths for increasing the germination rate of these 3 annual plant spe-cies varied in ranges of 0.5-1.0 cm, 0.5-5.0 cm and 0.5-5.0 cm respectively.
